It’s exciting, isn’t it?

It’s a little thrilling, yes? The idea of playing your own lever harp? Or if you already have a lever harp, how about the notion of playing it with comfort and confidence? If you’re ready to put in the time and dedication, you’re in the right place.

Let’s Start at the Very Beginning

If you are just getting started with a Celtic or lever harp, I recommend that you watch my free “How to Get Started Playing Holistic Harp” video series (coming soon! Sign up for my newsletter to be alerted to the launch).

Then give me a call. I’ll chat with you about your dreams, and discuss the ins and outs of buying your first lever harp and finding the right teacher, whether its me, or someone in your neighborhood.

What I Teach

I will show you various ways to connect with your own internal source of music, and to bring it out through your harp. I’ll teach you sample chord progressions, and the reasons why they work in certain situations.

If you are interested in learning healing and holistic music, I will teach you the most common scales or modes that are used in healing music. I can also help you prepare for a healing harp program, if you are headed that way.

If you are more into jazz, I can walk you through common chord progressions, and how to handle chromatic passages on a lever harp. Bring your favorite tunes, and we’ll put them on the lever harp.

Custom, Personalized Lessons

Your lessons are always customized to your learning style, needs, and desires. I understand that you have a life outside of music, and that things happen.

If You Study with Me, Here’s What’s Next…

If you decide that you’d like to work with me, I’ll ask you for a 6-month commitment.

You don’t have to pay for it all at once, but you do need to decide that you’re ready to give 6 months of your time to learning the lever harp. We can meet in person if you live near Campbell, CA. And we can meet by Skype.

  • You’ll get 3 one-hour lessons each month, with one week off for idea integration, vacation, sick days, and everyday practicing. (18 total lessons)
  • You’ll become a member of Holistic Harpistry Facebook page, where you can meet other harpists and share the musical journey through life.
  • $240 per month.

In early lessons you will learn foundational things such as posture, hand position, and care and feeding of yourself and your instrument.

You’ll also learn a basic improv pattern, so that you will be making your own music by the end of your first lesson.

Over the Long-Term

I ask for a 6 month commitment because I like to work with dedicated students, and because that’s how long it takes most people to feel really comfortable at their harps.

During that time, most students begin to find their musical “voice” or style of playing. From there, we can begin to create goals that take you further into your artistic Self.
